Spending money just only leads to more money spending. It's a cycle of wallet slaying that will never end.
Case in point:
I recently got myself a new laptop. It's all nice and shiny, and works like a dream. But then I think to myself, my laptop is new. I need to protect it. Make sure it gets the best care possible.
First, I get a cooling pad, which is a rational buy. I wouldn't want my laptop over-heating on me. So I pick one I think will be the best suited for my laptop (which always end up to be the not so cheap ones). Then I think, well, if I wanna game with my laptop, I don't wanna break my laptop keyboard. So I go get a wireless keyboard and mouse. Then I think of how I need to care for my laptop better. So I start thinking of better, sturdier laptop bags, getting a proper cleaning kit to clean the smudges and the list just goes on.
I knew I had a problem when I considered spending RM150 on a keyboard protector for my laptop. That's RM150 for a piece of rubber/silicon/mythril/dragonbone/NOTHING IS WORTH THAT MUCH FOR A KEYBOARD PROTECTOR.
Sigh.
The more you spend for an item, you better be ready to spend more ON it.
Doesn't matter if it's a new car, a new house, a new pet...
Moral of the story?
I dunno. Self control is important? Know the difference between what you want and what you need?
Whatever it is, I just hope somebody gets me that RM150 keyboard case/protector thing for Christmas.
