I'm sure by now everybody has been properly grossed out by the new cigarette boxes.
Pictures of throat cancer victims and dead little babies are all I think about now when I see people smoking.
Now on behalf of non-smokers everywhere, I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to try to curb smoking.
But by now the "horrors" of smoking are common knowledge. But people still do it anyway. It's a personal choice. So putting pictures of a dead baby on a cigarette box isn't necessarily telling people what they don't know. The only thing that changes is that they now know what a dead baby looks like.
Fact: Not a single smoker that I know has cut down on cigarettes as a result of the new campaign. And not to sound presumptuous, I'd be willing to bet that your smoker friends have not changed their smoking habits because of the new cigarette boxes.
As a non-smoker, not only do I have to contend with second-hand smoke, now I worry about losing my lunch whenever somebody wants to have a puff.
We have problems with sex and violence in our movies and TV shows. But the kind of graphic imagery involved on a cigarette box is worse than anything I've seen in a long time
Now, I don't necessarily have any alternatives to curbing the smoking problem, but I do know that certain things go beyond good taste. And the cigarette boxes are it.
Come up with a system where anybody who wants to buy cigarettes has to have clocked in a certain number of hours doing community service or something. I don't know. Just not pictures of cancer ridden feet with 3 toes.
I don't think cigarette sales have dropped. But if you're looking to start a business, I'd think cigarette case sales are on the upswing right a bout now.

Wah... it's been so long la
It's been awhile.
I apologize. I know that when I don't update this little blog of mine, a huge number of you people out there are deprived of my unending wisdom.
But fear not. I HAVE RETURNED!!
Not that I went anywhere... but, hey, you missed me right?
Now, this isn't a real post. It's just a little "hi. I am not dead. I missed you too" post.
I promise the next one will be actually have some form of something.
